Supreme Court of India
SC on 2G spectrum licenses
Tue Feb 01 2011 05 : 02 / New Delhi
The court added that the government's decision will be subject to its own verdict on the matter.

The Supreme Court made it clear today that the government cannot take any decision on 2G licenses based solely on the CAG Report on the alleged scam.

The court added that the government's decision will be subject to its own verdict on the matter.

A bench comprising Justices G S Singhvi and A K Ganguly made the remarks on the plea by an NGO, CPIL. The NGO is seeking a direction to the government, restraining it from regularising the license of the telecom companies which failed to meet the roll-out obligations.
