Alright, superheroes and supermen, make way for the ultimate superwoman.  

Salt is a film that will alter all notions about the ubersexy, stunt performing, debonair superhero. Because Evlyn Salt will show you how a woman can just as much put on her stunt cap and throw you in the midst of a frenetic ride of action, bullets, weapons, cars and bikes. She can long jump daringly inside an elevator shaft, leap from an overpass onto a truck, climb buildings and perform other hair raising, fist clenching and nail biting stunts.  

Now, if your intention was to watch a film that gave you a taut storyline and cohesive plot, then you might spend a lot of time questioning the realness of Salt - but if you can suspend your disbelief for a while, then Salt will take you on a rollercoaster of some kick-ass action by one of the most gorgeous women in Hollywood.

Jolie plays Evelyn Salt, a woman accused of being a KGB sleeper agent. The movie opens with Salt in her underwear being tortured by North Korean spies. Things are about to get worse, when her husband is able to swap her for another prisoner with the North Koreans.

While seemingly her life resumes to normalcy, a few years later a defector Russian spy brings to light a programme where a number spies who have been brainwashed and trained in their childhood by the Russians have been planted into the American society.

He also adds how most of them have now gained influential positions, but in reality are out there to execute some important assassinations. He names Salt as one of them. And now Salt must do whatever it takes to clear her name.

We have seen Jolie do all this and more in her earlier films like Mr and Mrs Smith, Lara Croft and Wanted. But Salt is not only going to refresh your memory but also add a sense of brand new pizzazz to this actress' performance roster.

It seems like Jolie slipped into the role most effortlessly. Let's not forget that this role was first offered to Tom Cruise who gave it up saying it was very close to the character he played in Mission Impossible.
