In an important development in the Sohrabuddin Sheikh fake encounter case, four policemen from Rajasthan have surrendered in Gujarat, in connection with the Tulsiram Prajapati encounter.

Tulsiram Prajapati was a friend and an eyewitness to Sohrabuddin's fake encounter and was subsequently killed in another encounter a few days later.

The four Rajasthan policemen who have surrendered, are ASI Narayan Singh, Constables Kartar Singh, Yudhvir Singh and Dalpat Singh. All of them have been sent to the Palanpur jail.

Tulsiram Prajapati was shot dead in a fake encounter by the special operations group of the Banaskantha police in 2006.

At the time, the state CID, which was investigating the Sohrabuddin case, was trying to contact Tulsiram Prajapati to record his statement.
