Dr Martin Harris lands in Berlin to attend a biotechnology summit with his wife Liz. As soon as they reach the hotel, Harris realizes that he has forgotten his suitcase at the airport and goes back to fetch it. On his way he meets with an accident and wakes up in the hospital after being in coma for four days. When he returns to the hotel, he finds his life tunred topsy-turvey. Another man has impersonated him and his wife refuses to recognize him. There begins his journey of finding and establishing his identity, many escaped murder attempts and an unearthing of a big assassination plan.

There isn’t much unknown in Unknown. We have seen most of the stuff earlier, whether it is using those hi tech syringes, impersonations, chase sequences and secret services. Even scenes where Harris discovers Jeena’s sketch book, her quaint room or the assassins following Harris – all seem way too familiar.  But the movie manages to keep us engaged nevertheless through its suspense.

It has a few nail biting moments such as the chase sequence where Harris and Jeena are chased by an assassin. But the thing about Hollywood films is that the nuances and plot development are enough to have viewers hooked, an art Bollywood still needs to master. Also the non-melodramatic ending makes Unknown quite an easy watch. After Abhishek Bachchan’s Game, I didn’t mind this Hollwyood suspense thriller at all.
