Resident Evil Afterlife is the fourth film in a franchise that came out of a video game series of the same name. A science-fiction action-horror film written and directed by Paul W. S. Anderson, The films stars Milla Jovovich, Ali Larter, Wentworth Miller, and Shawn Roberts among others. If you were craving to see some gore with special effects and action with sexy babes kicking Zombie ass, Resident Evil is the film for you this week.

Resident Evil: Afterlife takes the third installment forward. Ever since Extinction which was the title of the previous installment Alice is shown searching for survivors. But it isn’t going to be easy for her as an entourage of zombies await her and the survivors.

Positives: First of all we get to see Chris Redfield, a very important character from the game series in the movie for the first time. Mila Jovovich continues to provide for some great eye candy as do the other women when they indulge in tough action sequences. The action though not particularly novel does become engaging sometimes. Such as the part where Alice is attacked by a flock of infected crows. The 3D effects add razzmatazz but are also beginning to look overused now.

Negatives: Loud thuds don’t make for a horror film. Besides barring a few things, the movie has a lot of stuff we have seen in the past. That is the problem with multiple sequels. In the avarice to make one after another, the filmmakers completely forget to save us from the been there seen that stuff.
