Thirty years after the Falkland war, Argentenians continue to be intrigued by the former British Prime Minister Margeret Thatcher and are flocking to watch the Golden Globe winning performance by Meryl Streep playing her uncanny reincarnation in 'The Iron Lady'.

Thatcher, nicknamed The Iron Lady, was one of the most hated figures in Argentina during the 74-day old Falkland war in 1982 in which 649 Argentenian soldiers lost their lives. The movie is running to full house all over Argentina with media comments attributing it to Argentinians' curiosity to know how the nation's arch foe took decisions that almost sank their country.

But despite their hatred for Thatcher, movie goers in Argentina were all praises for the performance of Streep. The Iron Lady' made a good opening weekend in Buenos Aires, ranking fifth amongst the most watched films of 2012. The movie goers interviewed by the local media said they had gone to see the movie to know how vital decisions like the sinking of Argentinian battleship 'The General Belgran' was taken.
