Intl experts in Mangalore for crash probe

On Sunday, officials recovered the ill-fated plane's black box which contains the flight data recorder and cockpit voice recorder.

Disaster management experts, air crash investigators and officials from aircraft maker Boeing are set to arrive in Managalore on Monday to begin helping with the AI Flight IX-812 crash investigation.

One of the teams is from the US' National Transportation Safety Board, the main aim of which is to investigate the causes of transport accidents.

Joining them is a four-man team from private disaster management company Kenyon International Emergency Services in Houston. Boeing, which made the ill-fated 737-800 aircraft, will also send its team to the site.

Officials from these international bodies will join Indian investigators in piecing together clues from Saturday's crash.

On Sunday, officials recovered the plane's black box which contains the flight data recorder and cockpit voice recorder. This will help them learn about the actions performed by the pilots in the moments leading upto the crash, and also listen in to the conversation between the pilots and the air traffic controllers.
