Thu Jul 29 2010 07 : 07 / New Delhi
Kapil Dev, India's only world cup winning captain, sent down a few balls to the British premier when he visited the national stadium to have a look at the CWG venues.

British Prime Minister David Cameron on Thursday showed his skills with the cricket bat as he played out a few deliveries bowled to him by the legendary Kapil Dev.

The national stadium, which hosted the hockey World Cup early this year, is a venue for the CWG hockey event also.

Cameron had words of appreciation for the renovated facility and also wished the organisers success for the Games.

Apart from Kapil, another former Indian cricket captain Bishan Singh Bedi, legendary runner Milkha Singh and sprint queen P T Usha were also part of the delegation invited on the occasion.

The British delegation included Sebastian Coe, head of the London Organising Committee of the Olympic Games, Kelly Holmes, president of Commonwealth Games England, Olympian Sir Steve Redgrave and Richard Scudamore, Chief Executive of the English Premier League.
