Curfew relaxed in Srinagar, other areas

The curfew was relaxed in East, West and South zones of the summer capital Srinagar from 3.30 PM onwards on Tuesday.

Authorities relaxed curfew in Srinagar city on Tuesday afternoon while extending the relaxation period in other curfew-bound areas of the Valley, police said.
     
The curfew was relaxed in East, West and South zones of the summer capital Srinagar from 3.30 PM onwards, while it was relaxed in North and Hazratbal zones of the city from 4.30 PM onwards, a police spokesman said.
     
Earlier, the curfew was relaxed in a phased manner in five towns of Kupwara and Ganderbal district on Tuesday morning.
     
Curfew restrictions in Kupwara district town and adjoining Trehgam and Kralpora towns were relaxed from 9 am to 2 pm and later the relaxation period was extended to 4 pm, the spokesman said.
     
He said the restrictions were relaxed in curfew-bound areas of Ganderbal district including Kangan from 11 AM to 1 PM which was later extended up to 5 pm.
     
"The situation across the Valley continues to remain normal and under control," he added.
