Cyclone 'Thane' hits Tamil Nadu coast

Cyclone Thane has hit the coast of Tamil Nadu. The cyclone made landfall between Puducherry and Cudallore. Puducherry is witnessing heavy rainfall and strong winds. Winds have already damaged property and several trees and poles as well as thatched roofs have been uprooted. A holiday had been declared for all schools and colleges in Puducherry and Karaikal regions.
